There are no technical sections but the route is physically demanding. Not to worry, if you have a 800wh e-bike battery you can almost ride it entirely in turbo mode.
Intermediate difficulty
This one is truly special. If you think you’ve already seen the island’s highlights, this route will prove there’s always more to discover. It’s the kind of ride that fills your camera roll faster than you expect – especially if you time it for sunrise or sunset, when the light transforms the entire landscape into something unforgettable.
You’ll be riding exclusively on paved roads, but trust us – this is where an e-bike makes all the difference. The climbs are long and steep, but every meter of elevation rewards you with sweeping panoramic views. The higher you go, the more dramatic the scenery becomes.
After following the main road past Dražica, the atmosphere changes completely. The houses disappear, the crowds fade away, and you’re left with open road stretching ahead. A narrow ribbon of asphalt winds along rocky terrain and low Mediterranean vegetation, with nothing but sea and sky surrounding you.
Without giving too much away, expect breathtaking views on both sides of the island. On clear days, you’ll spot Velebit in the distance, as well as Ilovik, Susak, Krivica, Veli Lošinj, and more. Few island routes allow you to ride along the ridge while enjoying panoramic sea views on both sides at the same time – this is one of them.
The route follows an “out and back” format, which means anything you missed on the way out reveals itself again on the return. Different light, different angles, different colors—often an entirely new experience.
